Osmosis Chain Development
Skip will solidify their long-term partnership with Osmosis by developing a number of in-protocol features. Similar to ProtoRev, the deliverables detailed below stand to further differentiate Osmosis from other DEX’s and appchains in terms of UX, security, and value capture. These deliverables represent a subset of the work that Skip will perform under the recently executed 2-year contributor agreement between Skip and the Osmosis Foundation. While the vesting $OSMO compensation that Skip receives from the Foundation aims to ensure long-term incentive alignment, this proposed grant aims to provide the working capital required for resource staffing. For each milestone, Skip will receive 50% of the allocated amount upon testnet integration, and the remaining 50% upon mainnet integration. Milestone 1: Protocol Owned Builders (POB) v0. In POB v1, Skip will develop a new Cosmos SDK module (x/auction) that hosts a top-of-block auction. The proceeds from this auction will help Osmosis recapture value from CEX/DEX arbitrage and other top-of-block MEV opportunities; Milestone 2: POB v2 (also referred to as Block SDK). In POB v2, Skip will implement a standardized framework for a laned mempool. The top-of-block auction developed for POB v1 will become the MEV lane of the Osmosis mempool; Milestone 3: Oracle implementation. Skip will develop and integrate an in-protocol Oracle module and sidecar process that allows validators to query prices and load them into on-chain state. This Oracle update mempool lane will allow Osmosis to update prices every block without the risk of front-running or critical 3rd party dependencies; Milestone 4: EIP-1559+. Similar to EIP-1559, Skip will integrate a transaction fee market that dynamically adjusts fees to improve user experience and manage transaction load. This potentially could also include a base fee burn mechanism that stands to improve value capture for Osmosis.
Mesh Security Phase 2: Back-End Development
After completing Phase 1 of back-end development for Mesh Security, which involved 1) a detailed overview of the various components of Mesh Security and 2) the integration of the Mesh Security MVP into the Osmosis and Juno codebases, demonstrating functionality on devnet, we have finalized the scope of Phase 2. The goals of this phase will be to launch V1 of Mesh Security, which is meant to be deployed with low-cap chains (e.g. Chihuahua or Eve) as consumers and possibly Juno/Osmosis as providers. Milestone 1: at completion of the integration of the uni-directional V1 version of Mesh Security into low-cap chains to field test the solution in a low-risk environment; Milestone 2: at completion of the integration of the already field-tested V1 version of Mesh Security into the partner chain's and Osmosis' codebases and demonstrating functionality on a devnet.

This is a grant to fund Hathor Nodes for previous and ongoing incentive optimization and leadership of the incentives working group. Hathor Nodes is a repeat grantee, having previously received a grant for researching and deploying an optimization model for Osmosis liquidity incentive expenditures. This was implemented as Osmosis’s canonical incentives mechanism as part of Osmosis proposal 578, which also formed an incentives working group to maintain and improve the incentives mechanism over time. Since that time, Hathor has done additional incentive optimization work outside the scope of the original grant as part of his involvement in the working group. This includes amendments to the incentive optimization algorithm based on the following:
- Algorithm constraint refactoring to accommodate Mars Protocol liquidity requirements
- Balancer to Supercharged liquidity migration incentive mapping
- Osmosis volume splitting gauge implementation as part of the v20 Upgrade
- Algorithm TWAP constraint refactoring based on protorev arbitrage resiliency These optimizations have resulted in a net liquidity incentive expenditure decrease of approximately 9,000 OSMO per day ($492,000 annualized at current prices). The total number of OSMO incentive expenses saved by the working group has exceeded 1 million OSMO, and can be tracked here. Hathor also maintains the incentive mechanism on a monthly basis by generating data that is implemented into monthly incentive adjustment proposals. Work involved in this maintenance includes monitoring incentives and liquidity via the Chaos Labs Dashboard, data quality testing, double-checking algorithm results to ensure no miscalculations make it into production, organizing and leading incentive working group meetings twice a month, and optimizing existing code.
Sycamore Tax
Defiant Labs is a repeat grantee, having been funded to launch and maintain Sycamore Tax in 2023. Sycamore is a transaction parsing tool that scrapes an address’ transaction history and returns CSVs in a format easily readable by popular crypto tax platforms like Accointing and Koinly. Using the tool, Osmosis users can more easily review and compile their transaction history to make reliable tax reporting simpler.

IBC Rate Limit Improvements
This grant proposes to fund Range to research, design, and propose to Osmosis governance a rate-limit setting subdao in charge of adjusting rate limits on individual asset inflows to, and outflows from, Osmosis. This subdao will also have the capability to reset rate-limits when necessary in times of high volatility. The grant will also fund improvements to Range’s IBC rate-limits dashboard to allow the subdao to set rate limits based on historical inflows and outflows.
Celatone 2024 Support
The grant aims to provide continued funding for the Celaton team to sustainably maintain both the current back and front ends of the Celatone explorer. Start.Cooking: Meme coins Factory
Start.cooking is built by the Big Labs team, introducing an easy-to-use platform for token creation on Osmosis. It utilizes the Token Factory Module to provide an exceptional environment and user experience, allowing users to create tokens and meme coins effortlessly with just a few clicks.
Osmosis Smart Account Co-Signer
Smart accounts are Osmosis’s native account abstraction framework, allowing for, among other things, execution of “signatureless” 1-click interactions with the Osmosis chain via a front-end through the use of session keys. With features like 1-click trading and social (google, twitter, github, etc) login, smart accounts are set to provide a significant improvement over the existing UX surrounding trading and interaction with the Osmosis suite of DeFi products. However, the use of session keys to enable 1-click interactions with the blockchain comes with unique security concerns. For example, an Osmosis user might interact with a malicious front end and approve a session key that would allow a third party to drain their wallet without the need to expose the user’s private key. Similarly, a third party that can convince a user to install a file containing malware could trivially extract a valid session key from the user’s browser and use that key to drain the wallet. To stave off these and other risk vectors, Osmosis is partnering with Blockaid, a web 3 security infrastructure firm that provides malicious signature detection and blocking services for some of the largest wallets in the space. Blockaid’s list of partners includes Metamask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Rabby, and dYdX.

Fractal: Fractionalization and tokenization platform on Osmosis
This grant funds the development and launch of Fractal, a first of its kind in Cosmos NFT fractionalization and tokenization platform built on Osmosis. Fractal allows for the conversion of NFTs into fungible tokens that can be traded or LPed on Osmosis. This is accomplished by allowing for whitelisted NFTs (for example, Bad Kids) to be deposited into a vault contract in exchange for fungible tokens representative of the NFT’s collection. The user flow will allow for deposits to take place from Stargaze or from Osmosis. Similarly, these fungible collection tokens can be purchased on Osmosis from liquidity pools and used to redeem NFTs from the vault contract. Because of this mechanism, the collection tokens should have a value roughly mapped to a collection’s floor price, and will allow for traders and market makers to participate in cyclical arbitrage to maintain pricing parity between the collection’s floor price and the price of the collection tokens. Creation of a Fractal DAO and token is uncertain, and these features are thus not scoped out as part of this grant, however, if a Fractal DAO token is launched the Osmosis community pool will receive 5% of the supply of the token.
Milestone 1 = Delivery of vault contract and UI. The MVP will include the ability to deposit and redeem the initial whitelisted NFTs via the contract in exchange for the associated collection tokens; Milestone 2 = Delivery of an arbitrage dashboard that displays pricing of collection tokens relative to the associated NFT collection’s floor price in order to identify arbitrage opportunities; Milestone 3 = Delivery of a subsequent contract that allows users to lock and preserve specific NFTs for a given period of time, preventing them from being redeemed by others in the vault contract for a defined period of time. This will be useful in encouraging users with NFTs valued significantly above floor price to participate in the fractal product.
Alloyed Assets: Dashboard
The scope of this grant is to create an analytical dashboard that visualizes the different information, data points, and statistics related to Osmosis’ new alloyed assets. When a user first lands on the dashboard site, they will see a page showing the list of alloyed assets that are currently live. The dashboard will include information such as the alloyed asset name, market cap/TVL, alloyed asset price, composition of the assets that currently make up the alloyed asset, and more. There will also be a section that explains what alloyed assets are, how they work, their purpose, and links to more information (forum post, contract repository, etc.); Milestone 1 = Alloyed asset details page for alloyed USDT on mainnet, Milestone 2 = Deploy the Alloyed list page, the group asset composition by bridge/issuer and Historical swap transactions

LST Redemption Rate Arbitrage Vaults
This grant funds the Margined Protocol team to build a series of LST redemption rate arbitrage vaults for the largest LSTs supported by Osmosis liquidity pools. The vault design will allow users to deposit OSMO, TIA, ATOM, and more, which will then be used to purchase LST versions of these assets on Osmosis at a discount and unstake them with the relevant LST provider. Depositors will profit from the difference in value between the market rate of the LST and the LST's redemption rate. The vault is applicable to major LST providers that support a given asset and will optimize for the most profitable (i.e., the most discounted) arbitrage opportunity. Milestone 1: Deployment of TIA and OSMO vault strategies / Milestone 2: Deployment of ATOM vault strategy.

Incentive Working Group Funding Round 2
Since receiving a grant from the OGP 4 months ago, Hathor has continued to work with Osmosis contributors and the grants program to optimize LP emissions, and has delivered successfully on the entirety of the scope of work outlined in that grant proposal (including the 4 month maintenance period). As a result, the working group has slashed LP emissions further, leading to an additional 1.7 million OSMO in emissions reductions over the last 4 months (total: 2.7 million OSMO saved). This grant would fund ongoing maintenance of the incentives optimization mechanism until the end of 2024. During this time, Hathor will maintain the APIs and adjust the algorithm based on fluctuations in the market or addition / subtraction of certain assets. Hathor will also be working with the Osmosis Foundation team to design a bootstrapping model by which incentives are temporarily allocated to new strategic assets and then slowly phased out. In this approach, all pools are assessed as potential candidates for incentives. Pools in need of additional liquidity are given incentives for the month. Every month, incentives are disabled for all pools that do not meet the criteria. The model will need to be approved by Osmosis governance before going live. Payment structure is 3000 USDC per month from July through December 2024.

Both teams are also reaching out to other similarly situated teams (AADAO, dYdX, Interchain Foundation, Archway, etc) to help share the cost of future courses. The courses will be deployed on the Thinkific platform, a developer educational platform that will make the course free to use for developers wishing to interact with the program. Thinkific collects developer contact information and course submissions, providing a pipeline for new smart contract developer outreach and activations. The course videos will also be posted to the Osmosis and Neutron Youtube channels.
Incentives Optimization - Liquidity Bootstrapping Model
OGP currently has an ongoing grant agreement with Hathor for maintenance of the existing incentives mechanism through the end of 2024. This includes small algorithm optimizations and maintenance of the underlying model when new pools are added. However, the incentives working group would like to transition the current incentives mechanism to a bootstrapping model, by which pools will receive incentives for only a short period to bootstrap initial liquidity before seeing these incentives slowly phased out. Transitioning to this model will require significant changes to the incentive optimization algorithm, as well as bespoke research into ideal target APRs for new and existing LPs. This is expected to take approximately 1 month. The model is estimated to save between 750 - 1000 OSMO in additional emissions per day, resulting in a net savings to the protocol of $146,000 over the course of a year at current OSMO prices.

Laika
Laika is a Postman for web3, a tool to make requests to smart contracts. The team will integrate its CosmWasm request builder with Osmosis-native developer tooling for a seamless developer experience.
Managed Supercharged Liquidity Vaults
In partnership with the OGP and Quasar Finance, DLL will launch a series of vaults on Osmosis in two phases. Milestone 1: The first phase will include two managed vault options for the top five pools on Osmosis by volume (excluding stable/like pairs). The vault options will be two forms of range management, moderate plus (9.5% - 30% range of spot price) and aggressive plus (1.5% - 15% range of spot price). The five starting pools will be proposed based on Osmosis' historical swap volumes from the last two quarters. Milestone 2: The second phase will include the creation of vaults for the top five “like pairs” (LST and Stablecoin pairs). These vaults will use a tight tick optimization strategy to maximize yield for like pairs. Examples of potential pairs here could include stATOM/ATOM, qATOM/ATOM, stOSMO/OSMO, IST/USDC, USDT/USDC.
Multi-sig Tool Development
Retroactive grant for the development of the multisig tool, and a further grant to: 1) Merge the current version of the multi-sig with the upstream version;
2) Fix the multi-message feature.
Notifi
To integrate Notifi's white-label notification services into the Osmosis frontend to provide users with critical updates. The integration will include notifications for product announcements, account alerts, account activity, and portfolio alerts for the Osmosis DEX and other dApps building on top of Osmosis. Milestone 1 = at completion of the integration of notification into the Osmosis frontend; Milestone 2 = monthly recurring fee (for an initial 12 months) that kicks in once the integration is complete.
REstake.app
The initial funding is a retro grant for what the REstake team has built so far. The completion grant will be to build a delegation tool using the AuthZ module.
Runtime Monitoring Toolkit
To build support for all Osmosis chain specifics, as well as CosmWasm contracts. The toolkit will monitor a stream of security-focused Osmosis events in real-time and allow users to set custom smart contract alerts, that trigger when specific conditions are met. Milestone 1 will include Osmosis + CW support and the implementation of custom alerts; milestone 2 will involve the implementation of the stream of events feature.
Stake.tax
This is mostly a retroactive grant for the creation of stake.tax. An additional grant will be provided if Roger is able to maintain the Osmosis CSV through April 2023 (next tax season).
Stake.tax 2024-2025 Support
Stake.tax continues to be one of the most widely-used transaction CSV generators for Osmosis users seeking to comply with their crypto tax-reporting obligations. Roger previously received a grant from the OGP in 2022 to support the ongoing maintenance of the product and the addition of new messages and transaction types up to April 2023. Since the conclusion of that grant’s term over one year ago, Roger has continued to maintain the website and add minor new Osmosis messages, but larger messages (especially those related to apps deployed on Osmosis) are not yet supported, complicating Osmosis users’ ability to accurately track their transactions for tax reporting purposes. Milestone 1: Support for transaction messages for Levana, Mars Protocol / Support for Authz, Swap and action, Swap and forward messages / If Milestone 1 is not delivered by October 01, 2024 (2 weeks before the US tax extension deadline), OGP may, at its discretion, reduce the milestone payment amount by up to half. / Milestone 2: Ongoing maintenance for the stake.tax website and addition of major new Osmosis messages through the end of April 2025 / 48 hour uptime SLA on the website, 7 day SLA to add new messages to the website. If these SLAs aren’t met, OGP may, at its discretion reduce the grant amount pro-rata for each day in which the SLAs are not met.
Starship Improvements
To enhance Starship's integration with Mesh Security by adding native support for Mesh in the configuration, as well as a robust testing framework that accelerates the onboarding of new chains/projects into the Mesh ecosystem.
Tax Software - Osmosis Implementation
Defiant Labs hosts a web front-end and develops tax software that provides CSV formatted spreadsheets for the Cosmos ecosystem including the Osmosis blockchain. The CSV data includes taxable information for a given Osmosis blockchain address, compatible with popular tax softwares such as Accointing. This Grant is focused on adding Osmosis-specific capabilities to Defiant Labs' open-source tax software.
Tenderduty V2 Validator Monitoring Tool
To add some of the requested features to TenderDuty by fully rewriting the existing tool. New features will include: the ability to monitor multiple chains using a single instance; differentiation between types of missed blocks (e.g. where a pre-commit was seen but not included will be handled differently than a signature that was missing entirely); ability to alert on percentage of missed blocks over time, not only consecutive misses; a visual dashboard that displays missed blocks as a heat map over time (expanding on ping.pub’s uptime visualization); allow more flexible notification options: Telegram and Discord, and different severities for PagerDuty; a Prometheus exporter to allow visualization in tools like Grafana; alerts for nodes being down or lagging the chain’s head.
Token Info Pages and CLI Improvements
As part of this grant, Nabla will extend cli.osmosis.zone to also support signing, by building a version of the CLI keyring that uses Cosmoskit, so that developers can make CLI txs and sign them using Keplr. Nabla will also add informational token pages to the Osmosis frontend, which will include relevant descriptions and metrics. Milestone 1 = at completion of the CLI improvements; Milestone 2 = at completion of the token info pages for both desktop and mobile.

Cosmos Integration with Metamask
To add Metamask support for the Cosmos ecosystem in their initial, permissioned launch of Metamask Snaps – an open source system that will allow anyone to extend the functionality of MetaMask. This integration will allow Metamask users to sign Cosmos transactions with their existing accounts. Integrating the Cosmos ecosystem with Metamask will be a huge unlock, as it will give Metamask's ~20M users access to the Cosmos ecosystem in one go.
Custom MEV Module
To build an in-protocol custom MEV module for Osmosis that aims to capture and distribute MEV to Osmosis participants. Note that the delivery of the grant is conditional upon governance approval. The milestones are as follows: Milestone 1 = delivery of MVP on Osmosis testnet with at least 10-20 validator partners; Milestone 2 = mainnet launch with integration of all validators.
Fee Abstraction
To build two different version of the Fee Abstraction Module. The first version will allow customer chains to pay fees in any IBC token on Osmosis using oracle TWAP data (Milestone 1). The second version will leverage packet forward middleware to allow chains to take the accumulated fees and swap them for their native token using Osmosis (Milestone 2). Notional will also assist the Osmosis team with the chain-specific technical implementations. We will award Notional with retroactive grants for each chain-specific implementation, depending on the work involved and importance of the customer chain.
Fix LUNC IBC Connection
Retroactive grant for having fixed the Osmosis Luna Classic IBC connection, and having coordinated the relaunch of Luna Classic on the Osmosis DEX. A significant amount of LUNC funds have been stuck on Osmosis since the IBC channel was interrupted during the Terra crash. This is an effort to make users whole, and give them a chance to have access to their tokens.
Frontend for Osmosis Outposts
To build a highly customizable frontend reference implementation for the UI of the Osmosis Outposts. Milestone 1 = delivery of the Figma design files for Outpost UI. Milestone 2 = completion of the open-source customizable UI component library, including ReactJS and VueJS wrappers of the components with relevant implementation documentation and examples. These must also be compatible with Cosmology's toolkits and API, and use the Cosmos Kit wallet adapter. Milestone 3 = after six months of maintenance of the open-source component library, and collaboration with the Osmosis team for the Outpost UI implementations. Milestone 4 = after one year of maintenance of the open-source component library, and collaboration with the Osmosis team for the Outpost UI implementations.
Governance Module Improvements
To add optimistic and multiple-choice proposals to the Cosmos SDK governance module and include them in the next major release of the Cosmos SDK. Optimistic proposals are a proposal type that automatically passes unless vetoed by a specific threshold of voters. Multiple-choice proposals are a proposal type that instead of the usual yes/no answers can contain multiple answers. Milestone 1 = create ADR with final optimistic and multiple-choice proposal specs; Milestone 2 = development, review, and testing of optimistic proposals; Milestone 3 = development, review, and testing of multiple-choice proposals; Milestone 4 = once the features are developed, the SDK team will cherry-pick the exact features to the v0.50 SDK fork maintained by Osmosis so that Osmosis can support the new proposal types before the next major Cosmos SDK release; Milestone 5 = once frontend clients (Keplr, Mintscan) have integrated the new proposal types into their frontends.
Hummingbot Connector
To build a connector which will allow Hummingbot to support trading and LPing on the Osmosis DEX, including support for Concentrated Liquidity. This will involve close collaboration with Cosmology (front-end tooling) and DesignDAO (front-end design). He will be working in parallel with DesignDAO as he designs the web application and will leverage the tooling that is developed by Cosmology team to bridge the gap between the two workstreams. Milestone 1: MVP of Mesh Security Web-Application UI (Josef will convert the UI fine design wireframes into a functional UI for the Mesh Security web-application).
Mesh Security: Front-end Tooling
The project aims to build an initial cross-staking Mesh Security UI tooling that works with all supported chains. It aims to make Mesh Security more interoperable and widely available to developers by adding it as a component set in Cosmology's open source UI kit, CosmosKit. The project will include a Mesh Security create-cosmos-app template/example for developers to use and build upon, as well as a branded dApp built using the Mesh Security UI Kit. Milestone 1 = Mesh Security UI Kit v1 (this version will be completed before the final delivery of contracts so will not use real data). Milestone 2 = Finalized Mesh Security UI Kit (this will include a data layer, stateful components with interfaces for interoperability, and a new category for the UI Kit on cosmoskit.com with a visual component explorer for cross-staking components). Milestone 3 = Mesh Security create-cosmos-app example/template (this will provide a functional, working example of the Mesh Security UI that developers can use as a starting point for their own projects. The example will be made available through the create-cosmos-app command, allowing new projects or chains that join the mesh to spin up their own Mesh Security dApps in minutes).

Incentive Optimization Working Group
Incentives Optimization - Research
To research and analyze historical incentives data to inform the build of a new incentives system for Osmosis. Hathor will also lead the creation of a governance proposal to implement this new incentives system and, if successful, will be a part of a new incentives working group that will provide on-going oversight over LP incentives for Osmosis. Milestone 1 = submission of a governance proposal for new incentives system based on research findings; Milestone 2 = successful governance proposal and implementation of the new incentives system.

Frizzante is a platform that enables the tokenization and trading of yield. It aims to position itself at the center of the ecosystem for accessing yield, akin to Pendle but for Cosmos.
Hummingbot is an open source framework that helps you build automated trading strategies, or bots that run on decentralized exchanges. The grant will also fund improvements to Range’s IBC rate-limits dashboard to allow the subdao to set rate limits based on historical inflows and outflows.

The grant will serve to build an API that will include key KPIs for the most widely used DEXs across chains, such as on Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, BSC, and Cosmos.

Milestone 1 = launch the first version of the rebranded Terra bridge aggregator, letting users bridge to/from any of the chains currently supported by the website, and change the hardcoded code to handle the IBC channels to a more generic solution to add support for more assets like native chain assets, USDC, DAI, WBTC, WETH; Milestone 2 = at completion of support for new bridges (Gravity Bridge, Wormhole), new Cosmos chains (Stride, Injective, Evmos, Kava, Agoric, Regen, Akash, Axelar, Stargaze, Mars, Umee), and additional EVM chains supported by Axelar (Polygon, Arbitrum, Fantom, Aurora, BNB chain); Milestone 3 = after having maintained the new website for six months since the completion of the milestones.
Interactive CW Testing Tutorials
To build a fully interactive and open-source tutorial for the cw-multi-test and osmosis-test-tube libraries.
Mapping Full Nodes Around the World
This grant will serve to generate a world map which displays the location of full nodes pertaining to Osmosis and other blockchains in the Cosmos ecosystem, as well as key metrics to assess the performance of each node.
Osmosis Simulator
To build an Osmosis simulator where users will be able to learn how to use Osmosis, and provide feedback based on their experience.
Osmosis Treasury Dashboard
To build an in-depth treasury dashboard for Osmosis in order to track revenues, expenses, profitability, runway, as well as that of its sub-DAOs (Ministry of Marketing, Support Lab, Osmosis Grants Program).
Portfolio Analytics & Yield Discovery
To show users a full pool breakdown of their portfolio with historical data and incorporate Osmosis pools into their APY explorer. Milestone 1 will include the completion of full pool breakdown using historical data of TVL, volume, liquidity providers, swap fees, LP token value, pool age, token supply, token age, pool age, audits and ratios such as volume to liquidity. Milestone 2 (completion) will include personal calculation features such as risk parameters, impermanent loss calculator, fee calculations and wallet history.
REstake.app
The initial funding is a retro grant for what the REstake team has built so far. The completion grant will be to build a delegation tool using the AuthZ module.
Strike Wallet
To integrate Strike Wallet, a non-custiodial institutional-grade wallet, with Osmosis.
Testnet / Mainnet Price Parity
Defiant Labs is tasked with ensuring that the liquidity pool spot prices on the official Osmosis testnet match the prices of the corresponding liquidity pools on Osmosis mainnet. The arbitrage software will establish the market price of any given token pair (e.g. OSMO/JUNO) on the Osmosis mainnet and force the testnet spot price(s) to match that price. Defiant has committed to run the off-chain arbitrage software for 1 year and maintain it for 3 years. Milestone 1 = faucet module; Milestone 2 = open-source off-chain arbitrage software; Milestone 3 = to host the software for 1 year to match testnet and mainnet prices, and to support/maintain the software as needed for 3 years.
Void Protocol
Void Protocol's privacy-focused AMM will be deployed on Osmosis and integrated with its AMM. Void utilizes ZK-snarks to anonymize user funds in a completely secure and decentralized manner, meaning there is no storage of information which can link the deposit and withdrawal wallets.
